Drift-In - The Official Drifter Re-Union

The Drift-In

The Drift-In is a reunion rally for Kawasaki Vulcan Drifter Riders. The gathering was started in 2001 by Scott "Rideon" Steen as a rally for the Yahoo Vulcan Drifter Owners Group (Vdog) Group. Rideon hosted the first two Drift-In's and DI's in Prairie du Chien, WI. Additionally, he hosted the 2006 and 2007 Drift-In's and continues to support the efforts of volunteer hosts.

The rally has been held every year since 2001 and is now attended by Drifter Riders from all over the world. The rally has always welcomed any brand bike and any rider, and continues to do so.

All Drift-In's are hosted by a dedicated volunteer or volunteers. While each host tries to maintain traditional aspects of the rally, they are free to shape the rally to suit themselves. This adds a dynamic aspect to each rally which keeps it a fresh and fun event for all who attend.

Each rally includes traditional events such as a bike show, banquet, and bike rides. The primary rally HQ is referred to as the "dog pound", homage to the original VDOG founders of the rally.

The location of the next Drift-In is decided by a vote of rally attendees at each rally. See the Drift-In History page for more information on locations.

The Drift-In.org domain and website was started in 2002 by Todd "Bulldog" Grundy as a means to promote the Drift-In to all Drifter Riders. The site fell into unuse after Bulldog moved out of the USA, but was resurrected in 2008 and came back online as a promotional and historical site for the Drift-In in 2009. Vulcan Drifter Riders (VDR) sponsor the site which is maintained by Webmaster Steve "Chief" Tenhet.

You don't need to be a member of any group and don't really need to ride at all to attend this rally. Some attendees bring their families, some come from overseas, some tow their bikes, some ride them cross country. Whoever you are, and wherever you call home, you will be welcome.

We're currently putting together more information about the Drift-in, so stay-tuned.
